Philips Research is a global organization that helps Philips introduce meaningful innovations that improve people’s lives.

Philips provides technology options for innovations in the area of health and well-being, targeted at both developed and emerging markets. Positioned at the front-end of the innovation process, they work on everything from spotting trends and ideation to proof of concept and, where needed, first of a kind product development.

When electronics giant Philips approached us with the opportunity to design their new Innovation Centre in Cambridge, we were incredibly excited.

We were given a very specific creative brief.  We needed to design an environment which was thought provoking and inspirational in which high tech development could be achieved, whilst also making the space attractive to visitors, clients and staff alike.

Previously used to individual cellular offices, Philips decided it was time to introduce a new modern concept of open plan – which meant a complete culture change for the staff.

Working closely with the Philips management team throughout the project, we were able to design a comprehensive space that incorporated a multi-purpose lecture theatre, two high-tech laboratories, a central café style hub and break out area, full height glazed partition offices and a fantastic general open area office environment.

“Being given the opportunity to work with Philips was a great honour and a project that we all thoroughly enjoyed.”
